Day 400: Day 29 of 53 – December 7th 2008

Day 400
My Day
Thanks to Suzette, Celina, Ron and Jason for your well wishes for my wife. Hopefully her arm will improve soon. It is a real problem at the moment. She can’t even drive, so that is making it difficult for her.
Wow! 400 days! It has certainly flown by very quickly. As the day numbers get higher, the significance of reaching these “milestones” lessens. It’s just another day of blogging, now a part of my daily routine.
Busy day today, tidying up the garden a bit. I’ve got a barbeque lunch for my work mates next weekend. It’s kind of a Christmas thanks for the efforts they put in year-round. We have a lot of fun at work and we have a great name as a productive team of likeable people. I am very lucky to have such a group of individuals to manage, it makes my job very easy.
Now for the confession
My nutrition has been particularly poor of late and the scale is telling the tale. Time for quick action to be taken. I have avoided the scales for such a long time, but now I fear the time has come to drag them out and start becoming accountable by daily weigh-ins. From tomorrow I will state clearly what my morning weigh-in weight is. It’s not going to be pretty, I can guarantee that, but it may be a way for me to stop hiding behind not knowing what my weight is. No more hiding, it’s time to come out in the open. Hopefully the accountability of daily weigh-ins will help with my nutrition choices leading up to the Christmas period.

For me, as the daily blogging number goes it up amazes me that I have stuck with it for so long, especially knowing I could have quit a long time ago! And on the down days I still do feel like quitting! But as you say, it is such a part of the daily routine that it would be hard to quit!
I do hope your wife gets better soon. It is hard when our spouses health affects their everyday living. She will be in my prayers.
It is great to have a great working crew at work. makes life so much easier!
For me it seems the nutrition goes up and down depending on what is happening in our lives. Let’s hope we can get things turned around so we can rock out the new year, 2009!
So Congratulations on 400 Days of blogging!! It has been a pleasure journeying with you!
Hey Mike,
Congrats on 400 days of blogging – - but more importantly 400 days of shredding! You transformation is phenominal. You look like a totally different person. And I suppose in many ways you truly are.
I think daily weigh ins are good only if you track the trend and don’t get hung up on the daily ups/downs. Maybe you could track it on a line graph.
Shred on mate. Here’s to your next 400 days!
Congratulations on your 400th shredding day, Mike! Hope you can get a good nutrition plan in place soon.
Congratulations Mike, 400 days is huge! You have led by example and shown enormous support for all other Shredders on the way to 400. In regards to daily weigh-ins I know Tom does this for pre-contest prep, he just keeps all the variables the same each day. i.e. same clothing weight, same time of day, etc.
Congratulations on making it to day 400! That is awesome! It may lessen in significance to you, but it is very impressive for me to see people that make it that far and are still going strong. It’s very encouraging to know everyone doesn’t just give up and quit after all that hard work. And as far as the daily weigh-ins go, I’m with you on it. I need to hold myself more accountable also. Like Larry said, there will be ups and downs, just look at the trend. Congrats again brother!
400 days of blogging thanks for keep us in tuned with your world. Hey I hope that lovely lady of yours recovers soon and I hope you get your nutritional intake where it needs to be. Until later, keep shredding.
Mike, awesome job reaching 400 days! You are a rock!
Thanks Mike. Appreciate your support mate! You are a good friend.
Woohoo!! A big high five to you Mike. Not only are you a solid example to all of us, but you have a warm personality that shines through on your posts.
Congrats on your milestone!
